ODISHA a beautiful state of India filled with Rich Culture, Natural Scenaries,Rivers,Temples,Sacred Places and much more. Once it was called Kalinga and Utkala in ancient times and later it became independent on April 1 1936 and named as Odisha, It comes under one of the best state of India for it's Enriched culture, Geographical location, Natural resources, Industries,Natural parks, hills, rivers, mountains, glorious history and many more... let's go on a journey to explore this beautiful state.
Geographically it's located at east of India. It's Border line touches the Borderline of states like AndraPradesh, Chattisgarh and West Bengal.some part of it's east border touches the Bay Of Bengal which are having coastline of 480km, it's total area is 1,55,707 square and it covers 4.7% land of India which makes it the 8th largest state of India and also Population wise it's 3rd highest state of India which divided into 4 geographical regions which are Northern Plateu,Central river basins, Eastern hills and Coastal plains, it's having 1426 named mountains and many more rivers like Mahanadi,Brahmani river,Baitarani river, subarnkha river,rushikulya river, budhabalang river etc..
Political map of Odisha consists of 30 divisions,30 districts,58 Subdivisions, 317 Tahasils and 314 blocks. Each district having their own identity which consists of foods, different tribes, cultures and some great historical location as well as tourist places.
Odisha is a land of some of the great temples with some great historical tales behind it. Konark sun temple considered as one of the great sun temple and it also made it's spot in the list of 7 wonders of India for the Kalinga style artwork that are carved on it's stone.Puri Jagganath Temple is considered as one of the highest temple of India,whole heart of Odia people lies in this temple.Lingaraj temple is considered as one of the oldest temple of Lord Shiva.apart from these there are several more temples like Rajarani temple, Chousathi Yogini Temple,Tara tarini, Ghato Gaan Tarini Temple,Baladev jiu Temple, Lord Shri Ram temple,Dhabaleswar temple,Baba aakhandalamani temple, Gupteswar temple, leaning temple of huma, Chillika kalijai Temple and samaleswari temple makes it a land of Sacred places.
Odisha a place full of attractive Tourist places. According to reports Tourism sector is one of the major contributors to the economy of this state. According to reports it's contributes around 13% of Revenue to it's GDP. Major Rivers like Mahanadi,Baitarani,Kharkhai,Baitarani are some major contributor to it's economy. Apart from this waterfalls like duduma waterfall,Khandadhar waterfall,Rani duduma waterfall,bhimkund waterfall, Chillika lake, Similipal national park, Nandan Kanan,state museum,tribal museum, regional park, science park,ekamra Kanan,pathani samanta planetorium as well as khandagiri and udayagiri caves are some of the great places which attracts tourists from all over India as well as from all over world.
Odisha is Known for it's Rich Culture, whole ODIA culture is based on Lord Jagganath, Every year millions of People come to his car festival from All over the world just to get a glimpse of Lord Jagganath,Balavadra and Subhadra, Apart From Car Festival Durga Puja is also celebrated with lots of Joy. Cuttack heart of Odisha known for Celebrating Dussehra Festival. Many Dussehra Pandals even Use Chandi Medha to Decorate Lord Durga's Idol. Apart From this Rukna Ratayatra of Lingaraj is also very famous, apart from this Odia people Celebrates 13 festivals in 12 months. Every Districts also having their local tribe festivals. Alongside with odisi dance different districts also having different local dances.
Odisha is a Land known for it's tasty foods, Abhada which is served to Lord Jagganath is Known as Prime Food of Odisha, Pahala Rasogolla is very much famous among Odia People which also got G.I tag. Apart from this Kendrapada is known for it's Rassabali, Cuttack is Known for it's Dahibora, Berhampur is Known puri upma and many more. Odia people are very much fond of water rice which is known as Pakhala , in ode to it they celebrate Pakhala Divas every year on march 20.
Talking about Politics, Odisha is having a Parliament Known as Vidhansabha and a Secretariat. Vidhansabha Consists of 147 MLA Sheets who are elected from 30 different districts of Odisha, apart from this there are 58 sub-divisions of Odisha,314 blocks and 5 municipality Corporation are there in Odisha.
Talking about Industries there are many industries present at Odisha which contributes a huge part to it's economy, some of those are hydro power plants, Thermal Plants, Aeronautical factory, Manufacturing industry, Mining industry and, Electricity, gas water supply, construction as well as paper mills. The Industry sector continues to have a growing Contribution in the State's gross value added Economy Productivity metric, with a 36.26% share to 26% at the national level.
Coming to the history part, state Odisha having a glorious and enriched history filled with bravery, bloodsheds and many inspiring as well as proudful chapters. some of them are Kalinga yudha which happened on the Bank of River Daya where crude King Ashoka turned into Sober King Ashoka and became Buddhist and made Dhauli Temple, Paika Vidroho was considered as one of the major battle ever fought against British and also for the first time ever any war that was fought against British Government ,Khordha Varunei Gadh still stands as a witness of this war. Barabati was built in 987 CE by the Somavamshi dynasty .
Many Great Personalities, Great Leaders were Born at Odisha who served to this soil, fought for the Freedom of this state, raised their voice against injustice, fought battles to save the life of millions of odia people, wrote books to enrich it's art and culture, Sacrificed the welfare of this land. some of the great personalities who contributed their whole life for the people of Odisha are Jai Rajguru, Bakshi Jagabandhu, Madhusudan Das , Gopabandhu das, fakir mohan senapati ,Nilakantha Das, Sri Ram Krushna Bhanjadeb , Subash Chandra Bose ,Biju pattnaik and Krushna Chandra Gajapati. People of Odisha forever will remain awe to all of them.
